During the Internship

Journal, check-ins, goals, and time reporting – 14 questions

You fill in a check-in according to the schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly). You indicate mood (1–5), what went well, what was difficult, whether you need help, and goals for the next week. The company also provides feedback.

The journal is weekly. You write highlights, challenges, learnings, and reflections in free text. You also indicate your mood (great, good, okay, tough). The journal becomes the basis for your LIA report and portfolio.

Under "Time Reporting" you enter date, number of hours, description, and category (development, meeting, learning, other). You see an overview with total hours per week.

You create individual goals for the internship period with title, description, and category. Mark goals as completed with a date. The goals connect the internship to the education's requirements.

Yes, under "Feedback" you log positive or improvement feedback with category (technical, communication, collaboration, other), date, and from whom. The feedback log shows patterns in your development.

Under "Meetings" you save a summary, feedback, action items, and next steps per meeting. This creates clarity in communication with your supervisor.

Prakto automatically compiles a LIA report from the journal, goals, time logs, feedback, and meeting notes. It can be used as a basis for grading and exported as PDF.

Yes, under "Notes" you can quickly jot down ideas, reminders, and observations with a title and free text. Important notes can be pinned so they always appear at the top.

The check-in is marked as "overdue" and you'll receive a reminder. The school can also see that the check-in is missing. Fill it in retroactively as soon as possible.

The journal is personal and visible only to you. The company sees check-in responses (mood, what went well/was difficult) but not journal entries. You choose what to share in the portfolio.

Under "Contacts" you save professional contacts you meet during the internship, name, role, company, email, and phone. The network remains after the internship for future job opportunities.

Yes, the journal works fully on mobile via the browser. Perfect for quickly documenting impressions and learnings directly at the workplace.

Notify your supervisor and school. Don't miss check-ins, fill them in retroactively when you're back. Sick days can be noted in time reporting.

It depends on your internship agreement. Most LIA periods are full-time (40 hours/week). Log the actual hours so the school and company have accurate records.
